Concept & Action:
RANKA is the first spinnerbait from KAESU, equipped with innovative features that allow you to change both weight and action to suit the conditions.
The Knocking Blade System allows the front and rear blades to make contact, causing moments where the rotation of both blades stops. This produces natural speed variations and "flashing" darting actions simply by retrieving. The moment the blades catch the water again, it creates a complex irregular action where the head swings significantly back and forth. This intermittent change in action - mimicking the look of hitting a physical structure - acts as a powerful trigger to induce bites even in the mid-water column where there is nothing to bump into.
Furthermore, this system can be toggled ON/OFF. In areas where you want to take advantage of actual contact with the bottom or weeds (such as slow-rolling), the lure can be set to normal Action. Additionally, the highly versatile 3/8 ounce base setting can be transformed into a 1/2 ounce lure by attaching the included dedicated weight. While maintaining its compact silhouette, you can adjust casting distance, depth range, and retrieve speed to adapt to any situation. Knocking Blade System:
The Knocking Blade System is a revolutionary feature that realizes two completely different actions by changing the position of the front blade. You can easily switch between ON/OFF simply by sliding the spacer tube (collar) on the upper arm forward or backward. (Note: Because this system involves intentional contact between blades, surface wear may occur on the blades.)
- Action in OFF Mode:
When the Knocking Blade System is set to OFF, the action is specifically tuned for stability. In this setting it functions as a standard spinnerbait suitable for any situation, it is particularly effective when retrieved through structure. Because the action changes produced when bumping into the bottom or weeds are so pronounced, it excels in contact fishing where you intentionally deflect the lure off cover. -
Action in ON Mode:
When set to ON, the front blade makes contact with the rear blade, creating moments where the rotation of both blades stops simultaneously. This results in intermittent irregular actions, including sudden speed variations accompanied by body flashes (darting) and a significant back-and-forth swinging of the head. This creates a trigger action unique to the RANKA - perfect for mid-water column targeting where a simple steady retrieve isn't enough to provoke a strike, or in muddy water where you need a stronger presence to attract fish.
Original Blade:
Front Blade: The 0.6mm thick narrow-shape blade, set via a swivel, achieves powerful rotation without losing its angle. When the system is ON, it has the torque to stop the rear blade's rotation effectively. When the system is OFF, it produces stable, consistent rotation.
Rear Blade: The 0.3mm ultra-thin rear blade features a shallow curve and a wide shape. This design allows for a wide rotation angle, which increases the efficiency of contact with the front blade while providing instant start-up response and intense flashing. The entire blade setting is meticulously tuned to further enhance the effects of the Knocking Blade System.
Head Shape:
The head features a compact design with a front-leaning, low center of gravity to concentrate weight balance at a single point. This design maximizes stability when the Knocking Blade System is OFF and amplifies the action changes when it is ON.
Closed Eye:
A closed eye is utilized for superior strength and to prevent wire deformation. A plastic tube is used to prevent the line from getting caught in the eye and to allow for the use of a snap. The wire itself is made from durable 1mm stainless spring steel.
Original Wide Gap Hook:
The lure features a #3/0 hook, designed for both improved hook-up rates and the power needed to fight big fish.
Weight Hanger:
By attaching the included 3.5g weight, the lure can be used as a 1/2 ounce bait. This allows for increased casting distance and compatibility with various depths and retrieve speeds while maintaining a compact silhouette. Naturally, the effectiveness of the Knocking Blade System remains unchanged when the weight is attached.
