KAESU OHIRA
Flat Side Joint Bait - medium-sized jointed bait designed to excel at cranking
Concept & Action:
OHIRA was developed with the main concept of making cranking with medium-sized big baits more effective. Its tall, flat-sided body produces a powerful wobbling action with controlled roll, strongly displacing water while maintaining a natural, stable movement without excessive flutter.
During ascent, the original tail gently quivers side to side, realistically imitating baitfish rising toward the surface. A flat-sided body designed to imitate tall-profile baitfish, while emphasizing strong vibration during cranking.
This unique action attracts fish even during stop-and-go retrieves or when lifting the lure to avoid snags - delivering a previously unseen level of appeal. In addition, the wide range of motion at the joint allows the lure to perform underwater dog-walking, a technique that has become a standard big-bait method in recent years.
Equipped with the Reload Weight System, which allows buoyancy and diving depth to be adjusted according to conditions, OHIRA covers a wide range from the surface down to approximately 2.8 meters. Cast, retrieve, and pause. In every situation, OHIRA captivates fish and reminds anglers of the true effectiveness of big-bait cranking.
- Length: 165 mm
-
Weight: 42 - 49 g
- Includes two tungsten weight balls and two float balls to adjust weight / diving depth. (Same size as KRK205.)
- Hooks: #3
- Split rings: #3
Tail Design:
An elastomer tail that delivers a natural action during retrieve and a unique, side to side shaking motion during ascent.
Reload Weight System:
The Reload Weight System is an original weight system that allows anglers to fine-tune buoyancy and running depth to match fishing conditions. The weight is adjusted by using the two two tungsten weight balls and two float balls that are included in the lure.
-
0 tungsten balls, 2 plastic balls - High Floating:
- Ideal for shallow-water approaches, tracing the surface down to less than 1 m by adjusting retrieve speed.
-
1 tungsten ball, 1 plastic ball - Floating:
- Suitable for cranking down to a maximum depth of 2.6 m. Optimized for stop-and-go retrieves that utilize buoyancy and tail action. Also capable of fine-pitched underwater dog-walking.
-
2 tungsten balls, 0 plastic balls - Slow Floating:
- This setup reaching depths of up to 2.8 m. The slow rise keeps the lure in the strike zone longer, enhancing tail action and enabling slow, compact underwater dog-walking with minimal forward movement.
