The skillful GUP is a versatile pencil-popper that combines the characteristics of a pencil bait and a traditional popper. From a subtle dog-walk to pronounced popping and wake action, GUP can be worked in a variety of ways to suit different fishing situations.

Made from foamed polyurethane, the Gup is exceptionally lightweight while maintaining a solid-body construction. This allows it to be worked even with fluorocarbon line, although nylon or PE line is recommended for the best performance.

The solid polyurethane construction also gives Gup a distinctive presence in the water. Rather than producing the relatively light water displacement of conventional injection-molded poppers, its solid body creates a heavier, more powerful wake as it moves across the surface. At the same time, the lightweight material produces a soft landing sound, helping to avoid unnecessarily spooking wary fish.

The result is a topwater bait that can combine strong surface disturbance with a surprisingly subtle presentation - whether you are walking it, popping it, or slowly working it across the surface.

The Gup is 100% designed, developed, and crafted in Japan using premium materials and top-tier components, including Owner ST-36 hooks.

This edition features FISH JEWELS, a custom color developed by THE STRIKE Skate and Tackle Shop. The distinctive colorway gives the GUP a unique finish while maintaining the technical performance of the original lure.

The Gup series is available in three sizes:

Gup Original: The all-round size for a wide range of topwater applications.
Gup Jr.: Compact size, particularly interesting for imitating insects and other small prey.
Gup 78: The larger model for increased presence and targeting bigger predators.

Designed with European waters and target species in mind, the Gup series is suitable for targeting pike, perch, zander, bass, catfish and other predatory fish.
